We exist in a highly divisive climate that seeks to eradicate radical art, joy and love, and yet we continue to come together to create, carve space and birth change. We invite you to reject the scarcity mentality, so that we may open our eyes to the abundance of resources, teachers and community we have flourishing around us. This is the tipping point.
Multidisciplinary artist/organizer and Patrick’s Cabaret Program Assistant, Julia Gay, offers an intervention to the whitewashing of our future arts ecosystem. On June 25th from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, join Julia as she welcomes leading queer and trans BIPOC artists and organizers to the stage for a panel discussion examining the questions:
- What are queer & trans BIPOC artists in our communities bringing to the arts?
- How are queer & trans BIPOC artists transforming our collective movement towards equity and justice?
- What does/can the future look like for queer & trans BIPOC artists?
This conversation will be moderated by Oskar Ly and will center the voices of LGBTQIA2+ Black and Indigenous peoples and People of Color; white attendees are invited to bear witness. Racism/homophobia/transphobia will not be tolerated.
