A new collaboration between Patrick's Cabaret and Soo Visual Arts Center, this workshop series stems from our organizations' priorities to connect artists to educational opportunities, performance platforms, tangible resources, and to each other, to put their talents to work. These four sessions are intended to put artists to work in new ways, creating an environment for peer-led, collaborative development.
We're selecting four artists to facilitate 1.5-2 hour-long workshops for their peers, sharing skills on how to survive as artists "on the edge of culture." Artists can be of any discipline (whether visual, performance, or anything in between) or level of experience. While we do have some guidelines, we're open to any proposal and topic, from accessing funding to creating safer arts spaces, and everything in between. We'll support you throughout the process, and no previous teaching experience is needed. It's all about sharing what you already know to make our communities of artists stronger and more resilient.
