Call for Performers: Cabaret show for the Fringe Festival

Patrick’s Cabaret presents…“Wait...Didn’t Patrick’s Cabaret Close?”

At the Minnesota Fringe Festival, August 4-12, 2017

Venue: Intermedia Arts, 2822 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55408

About the show:

“Wait...didn’t Patrick’s Cabaret close?” It’s a question we still get. So we’re producing a Fringe Festival show this summer that showcases the community of artists that have graced the many stages of Patrick’s Cabaret, proving that we’re not closed--in fact, we’re just getting started.

We seek artists who have ALREADY performed with Patrick’s Cabaret in its 31 year history to present their most provocative, subversive, and affirming work. We will present a rotating line-up of Cabaret artists, with no two shows the same. We seek participants from all eras in the history of Patrick’s Cabaret, and as always, artists of color, with disabilities, and with queer and trans identities are especially encouraged to apply.

Details for artists:

  • All performances will take place at Intermedia Arts as part of the MN Fringe Festival.

  • Each performance will feature 3 acts of up to 15 minutes each. The time limit will be strictly enforced due to Fringe Festival’s time limit for each show. An act may be a solo performer or a group of up to 3 people.

  • Technical capabilities are very limited, performances that will thrive best will have minimal expectations for lighting and sound cues.

  • Call times are 45 minutes before show time.

  • All acts will be paid $75 each. An act may be a solo performer or a group of artists, but each ACT will be paid $75.

  • Smoking onstage, fire, and anything that would pose a threat (figurative or literal) to anyone is not allowed.

In the application, you will be asked to mark ALL of the dates/times you are available. Three acts will be selected for each date, with selections made to include the right mix of genres, disciplines, and perspectives.
